DISCRIPTION DETAILS ATTENTION

A brush for grooming your cat with the gentle motion of a stroke. When placed in its case, it resembles a small nut.

With a case designed to blend naturally into its surroundings, the brush does not need to be tucked away. It can be kept close at hand, near the places where you spend time with your cat. The body and case are individually carved from Japanese cherry wood by woodworkers in Hida Takayama. Japanese cherry wood is known for gradually deepening into a rich amber tone over time. The brush is made with horsehair and tampico, a plant fiber, both set by a long-established brush maker in Asakusa. Horsehair is a natural material also used in brushes for delicate knitwear such as cashmere. It feels soft against the skin, is less prone to static electricity, and the trace amount of natural oil contained in the hair helps give the coat a gentle, natural sheen as you brush. Tampico, on the other hand, has the moderate firmness characteristic of plant fibers, creating a pleasant stimulation similar to the feeling of a cat rubbing its body against grass or the ground.

The brush head is replaceable, allowing you to use it for many years to come. Replacement brush heads will be available soon.

・As natural wood is used, the grain and color may vary from piece to piece.
・To remove hair caught in the brush, use a commercially available comb or brush cleaner. To avoid damaging the bristles, remove the hair little by little, lifting it gently from the tips of the bristles.
・As a general rule, avoid getting the brush wet. If you are concerned about dirt, wipe it with a tightly wrung cloth and allow it to dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated place.
・If the wooden surface becomes dry, apply a thin layer of drying oil, such as linseed oil, perilla oil, or walnut oil, wipe off any excess, and allow it to dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated place.
・When the bristles begin to wear, replacement brush heads are available separately. The handle and case can be used as they are, allowing you to replace only the brush head and continue using the brush for a long time.
