The brush is made with horsehair and tampico, a plant fiber, both set by a long-established brush maker in Asakusa. Horsehair is a natural material also used in brushes for delicate knitwear such as cashmere. It feels soft against the skin, is less prone to static electricity, and the trace amount of natural oil contained in the hair helps give the coat a gentle, natural sheen as you brush.
